· What is PROBUS? Originally a networking association that combined the words “Professional” and “Business,” PROBUS has transformed into an organized network for seniors who want to connect, learn, enjoy, and travel and at many different levels, with other retirees in their community. We are a volunteer-based, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian fellowship organization.

· Who? Seniors from Port Colborne who care about others and want to remain active, curious, educated and aware. The PROBUS network consists of 4,000 clubs worldwide and over 250 clubs across Canada and a dozen new clubs springing up each year. Pelham PROBUS is our sponsor club.

· Cost? A membership fee is $60.00 per year. A one-time name tag fee of $25 covers costs with PROBUS Canada such as insurance, charter fee and national membership fee. Social events like a cooking class, a day at the races, bocce in the park, etc. are optional, separate and paid for by the participant.

· When? Except for December and July, PROBUS will meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

· Agenda? Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee, tea and sweets. Meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. with club business and day trip updates, etc. At 10:30 am the guest speaker takes to the podium and finishes with a Q&A session by 11:15 am. A 15-minute wrap up, if necessary and we’re out by 11:30. Many members plan lunch together.

· Where? The Guild Hall at 72 Charlotte Street in Port Colborne.
